I’ve always been a bit of a night owl. Lots of creative types are. I also have major issues with inattentive ADHD which is a blessing & a curse while editing. The tendency to chronically procrastinate almost ruins projects before they get started…so many are always on the back-burner. But then the adhd perfectionism & obsessive hyper-focus when I get into things sometimes saves them or takes projects to new levels 😂
However for any deep extended focus tedious video editing tasks i feel like I can only really get in the zone between Midnight & 6am. Partially because the rest of the world is asleep and no one else is bugging me.
This makes me an occasional nocturnal vampire which is not so good in the summer months. Luckily im freelance and don’t have a regular 9-5 corporate obligation, or a family… but it messes with my social life a lot too.
Anyone else in the same boat or have any tips for effectively editing during the day? Or managing multiple projects while self employed? Locking my phone in a box and unplugging my router seems like the only solution sometimes…
