Does premiere suck on m1 macbooks?

Post Body

I started a project on my home setup which is a PC and brought the project into the office which has a macbook m1 and performance is suffering. Rendering and export are ::generally:: faster, but the UI is not nearly as responsive and gets worse during the day.

Drawing a matte on a Lumetri effect can be really challenging, with glitches at worst and a bit of a delay when I advance frame by frame at best.

My pc setup is quite a bit older and cheaper than the macbook which confuses me. Thoughts? Does premiere still have issues with M1 processors?

Macbook:

Mac OS Monterey V 12.4 Macbook pro 16 inch 2021 Apple M1 pro 16gb RAM

Project and render files on internal 1tb flash storage, media on external SSD (sandisk extreme)

PC:

Windows Intel i5-9600k cpu 64gb ram

Project file on c: ssd, render files on separate m.2 ssd, media on spinning drives.

Thank you!
