Hola editors! This is going to be my first ever post and first ever cutting gig, a feature documentary. I plan/intend on doing this for zero compensation as the person has said I could use this experience for credits, but we have not had any compensation discussion yet. I will get to know if they are willing to pay anything when we meet. I found the person on an app basically (totally unrelated to business), and they have won several film festival awards for one of their submissions. I wonder if there is anything I need to keep in mind when I officially say yes (we are supposed to meet end of this week for more discussion), if it is OK to work for free for the first few gigs just so I could get my foot in the door, anything else you could guide me about please.
