Got an offer to work with an indie filmmaker to edit his films for credits. Need some advice.
Post Body

Hola editors! This is going to be my first ever post and first ever cutting gig, a feature documentary. I plan/intend on doing this for zero compensation as the person has said I could use this experience for credits, but we have not had any compensation discussion yet. I will get to know if they are willing to pay anything when we meet. I found the person on an app basically (totally unrelated to business), and they have won several film festival awards for one of their submissions. I wonder if there is anything I need to keep in mind when I officially say yes (we are supposed to meet end of this week for more discussion), if it is OK to work for free for the first few gigs just so I could get my foot in the door, anything else you could guide me about please. Thank you all so much!
