Hey Folks,
Quite a while back I did a review on the Steam Crave Aromamizer Supreme Limited Edition. I really enjoyed the Steam Crave experience, continuing to use it regularly, when the time called for a tank. It was reliable, didn't leak and was easy to build on. Steam Crave has a fairly large dedicated group of loyal followers, so it seems anyway. Recently,Steam Crave reached out to me once again to see about doing a review on the revamped Supreme, the Supreme V2 . I accepted immediately as I was excited to see what changes the V2 has brought to the table. After using it for a few weeks now, I can say that there are definitely some functionality improvements but the performance has remained about on par with the previous versions. It seems with this V2 that Steam Crave really absorbed all the feedback they received on the previous version and made the necessary changed to round this tank out and have it pretty much perfect, pretty much While I won't dive too deep into detail,as many things have remained the same, I will cover as much as possible without repeating things I have said in the past about the V1 Without further delay, I present the Steam Crave Aromamizer V2

Packaging
The Aromamizer comes in the standard Steam Crave packaging, a clear window to see the tank from outside, with a flip top magnetic box. Simply lift the front flap and voila. The front of the box shows a sketch up of the improved airflow system as well as the Steam Crave logo,Aromamizer Supreme V2 in metallic lettering at the top left of the box and their "Supreme Dripper Tank System" slogan at the bottom. Break open the packaging, flip the cover to reveal everything packaged in there very nicely, sitting in red felt/velvet lined foam. I think this is excellent presentation. At first glance you see the tank,a spare glass, ceramic plugs and the spare parts bag. You can lift out the insert to reveal additional items on the bottom such as a Steam Crave sticker, user manual and the allen key for the build deck. Overall, very well presented and their standards of product presentation have not wavered in the least.
First Impressions
First impressions are everything right? Steam Crave is typically very good at first impressions. While 98% of all the initial checks I did were excellent, there is one flaw, that seems so obvious I am not sure how it got past the QA department. It's minor,to some it may be major but it's there. It's the drip tip. the god awful, poorly designed drip tip. The little thing sits in there, supposed to be a fitted drip tip, yet, there are absolutely zero orings on the thing. Not even a groove or notch where one would sit. As you can imagine, it just falls right out. I immediately switched it out for the drip tip from the V1 Supreme. Problem solved. Some people may not have an extra drip tip laying around so it may be more of an issue for them. Aside from that, first look, the finish is fantastic, a gorgeous, matte black. It seems fairly tough and durable,I gave it a scratch with a key and nothing came off with it. I broke the tank down, piece by piece, and reassembled it. As expected, the threading is fantastic. No catches or skips in the threads. No machine oil left on anything,I felt comfortable to jump right into building it. The V2 breaks down into a total of 10 pieces, drip tip all the way to the base. I don't think I have used a tank that breaks down into so many pieces. It makes for a slight annoyance when cleaning but I can be fairly lazy at times. All the pieces that are fitted with orings slip on very tight, making for a very tight, leak free seal. I took everything apart once again to assemble into dripper mode. The entire operation took less than a minute, super easy to convert over if you want to try that out. Overall, first impressions are as expected, steam crave has held up to the reputation they have created, aside from the drip tip issue.
The Finer Details
So from the top down, we have the Delrin drip tip(switched out for a SS drip tip). The top cap,or fill cap is knurled all around the edges so as to make it easy to remove for filling the tank. Once you get the top off, there are the fill ports, which are kidney-shaped and more than adequate enough to accommodate just about any dropper size. The fill port piece is also the section that displays the " Aromamizer Supreme V2" lettering. Moving on, once the fill port cap is removed, the glass slides right off and then you're left with the chimney and the contents of the base assembly. The chimney is fully threaded at the top, with a partial thread at the bottom and a couple o-rings for a good seal. This chimney is supposedly slightly larger than that of the last Supreme, allowing for improved ariflow, vapor density and flavor. This section also displays the Steam Crave logo. Now you are at the base, this sucker breaks down into many parts. One thing I did notice that is different from the last version is that the airflow control ring no longer has those little free floating pins to hold it in place. I had those fall out on me the first time I took apart the V1 and I spent some time looking for them. This version has little grooves that sit down into a slot and lock in place. I love this improvement! The base assembly comes apart in 5 pieces. The chamber, which is the main part of the assembly, the air flow control ring, build deck which slips up into the bottom of the chamber, sitting into two little grooves. Below that you can remove the juice flow control and the base which holds the juice for bottom up wicking.
The Aromamizer Supreme V2 comes in a 25mm diameter which should sit flush with no overhang on most of the mods that are out there. The capacity of the tank is an average 5ml. I think that tanks should be getting larger in terms of juice capacity as it seems like people are tending to consume more and more on a regular basis. I rebuilt my V1 supreme to see how it compared to the V2 and honestly, the difference is slight and most probably wouldn't notice it. The original Supreme had some pretty nasty condensation and juice spitting issues. The V2 has resolved both those issues in a great way. I will cover the details of that in the airflow portion of this review. The standard version comes with the two post velocity style build deck, I chose to install the postless deck only because I feel it opens up a bit more airflow and does improve the flavor slightly. The tank can also be broken down into a dripper mode by removing all the pieces from the chamber up and then threading the top cap onto the chamber. When I used it in this mode I didn't notice a whole lot of difference, a slight improvement in flavor and minimal increase in vapor. I prefer this in tank mode.
The Airflow
This was one of the big things that Steam Crave took to fixing. The V1 had good airflow but it left a great deal of condensation that would form on the mod and occasionally you'd also get some juice spitting. To fix this,Steam Crave milled a screen into both airflow holes. These screens are not something that has been added on, they are actually milled into the chamber all as one piece. Immediate testing shows that the condensation issue has indeed been resolved and I did not notice any juice spitting BUT there is one small issue with this change. Instead of the condensation building up on the mod, the little holes in the screen become plugged with juice. Once you inhale the juice leves the holes. The chimney on the V2 is slightly larger, for what reason I am not sure. I did not see an issue with the airflow in that regard on the V1. Even with the larger chimney, I don't notice a significant increase in performance over the V1. The airflow if fully adjustable via the afc ring below the chamber. Simply grasp it and turn. The turning of the ring is a bit tight so make sure you hold onto the tank while doing this. wide open I found that the flavor was not as good as say half or 3/4. There is more than enough airflow here for anyone to play around with. You can really dial it in to what is right for you.
The Deck
I won't go into great detail on the deck. Everyone has seen, heard, read or used a two post velocity deck. It's probably the most widely used configuration available across all manufacturers of mainstream atomizers. What I will say is that I love the design of how the deck fits into the tank. Nothing has changed from the V1 and I am happy that they did not change it. The deck fits into the bottom of the chamber, held in place by two grooves that lock into the chamber, as well as orings for a leak free seal. I didn't use the two post deck while testing the tank, as I said above, I prefer the postless deck by a long shot.
Final Conclusion
So, after playing around with this tank for a little while, it has easily earned its spot in my regular rotation. The improvements over the previous version are slight, but, they were the exact things that all the users of Steam Crave products demanded. So in thinking of that, this shows how well they have listened to their followers. Steam Crave, unlike a number of other manufacturers, does not push numerous amounts of products out the door every month. They actually went a fair amount of time in between releases. I respect a company that puts time into releasing something, taking care to make sure it's ready(aside from the drip tip!). The performance seems to have remained relatively the same, slight increases in vapor and flavor perhaps. Overall, I got exactly what I was expecting and nothing less. I believe that Steam Crave already created a fantastic product before so it's clear that they are just doing what the masses want and improving on an already near perfect design. The quality of this tank from top to bottom is astounding, the threading, orings and sturdy feel to the tank is quite pleasing. There are many pros to this tank, and only one con that I came across, the drip tip. I am not listing pros and cons for this tank as it would seem redundant as everything is great expect for one item.
If you have never owned a Steam Crave product, I highly reccomend that you go out and pick something up. I can not recommend them enough. The attention to detail and craftsmanship in their products is amazing!
Thanks for stopping by and reading this wall of text! I have become much busier in life in the last little while so I have not been getting on here as much as I would like but rest assured, there is lots to come in the future and even a few giveaways so stay tuned!
