Post Body

Hello Everyone,

Recently I found myself chatting with the folks over at Augvape and they offered to send me over their new RDA,the Druga which is a collaboration with Mike @vapeshouse, a coil builder from Indonesia. After reading a ton of reviews on this previously, I absolutely had to get my hands on it, so they were kind enough to send it over. To top it off, they even sent the rainbow version and I couldn't be more pleased. It looks fantastic sitting on top of just about anything. So, thank you to the people over at Augvape for giving me this opportunity and I look forward to doing more reviews for them in the future! I have been running the Druga through its paces for a few weeks and I have yet to have any issues with it. I like to run hardware for a little longer than some normally would as I find it takes a little time to show any of the long time use flaws than it would in say a week of use. Without any more delay.

To start things off let's take a look at the specs of the RDA as well as what you can find inside the packaging once you tear it open.

Packaging

The Druga comes packaged inside a very attractive looking round tube of sorts. You simply pull the top portion off to reveal the inside of the box, holding the Druga. The tube is all black with the Augvape logo on front and Druga RDA written above it. You will also find the authenticity scratch off on the outside of the tube as well. Sitting inside the tube, the RDA is recessed down into a foam liner, leaving only the drip tip above the surface. The hex key sits off to the side and the spare parts bag tucked in there as well. The packaging is minimal but it is very eye catching mainly due to being in a round tube. Overall it's well presented.

First Impressions

After getting the Druga out of the package, I immediately could feel the weight to it. It's not as heavy as some RDAs that I have but the feel to it yells quality made. The rainbow finish is incredible. I am not sure how exactly they do this but it appears like the finish will never come off, like the metal it's self is rainbow all the way though, a heat treat process maybe. Testing the drip tip right away, it's fit in there very well. I had to work to get it out the first time around. I like the low profile of the drip tip, it's a nice change from the tall wide bores or tall 510's. Etched across the top of the drip tip is "Druga",very nice touch. One side of the RDA also has a "D" logo of sorts that would be the Druga logo I am assuming. Once I removed the top cap, the deck was gorgeous. The gold plated finish is super clean and looks very smooth. There is no residue of any machine oil anywhere and it looks ready to go as it. The thing that most caught my eye when I first saw this was the thumb screw clamp system. I have waited a long time for someone to finally come up with a design like this. The screws are big and beefy while also threading on and off very smoothly. They did catch a little going back on but that was a one-time thing. Overall, first impressions of the Druga are great, I couldn't have been more pleased. I have to note that once I had this built and went to put the cap back on, there was a very nice audible "click" when it locked in place. That is a first for me!

The Finer Details

So, the Druga boasts a nice and big 24mm diameter. It sits nice and flush on all the mods that I have. I have personally become accustomed to large RDA's,24 and 25mm seem to be the best for me, usually allowing for some good juice capacity in terms of the size of the drip well. The dual posts on the druga are fantastic. This RDA can house some fairly large builds with little to no resistance(Pun!) It has a 24K gold plated build deck. This seems to be the norm for most mainstream RDAs these days, it adds a nice visual touch. The deck alone is 20mm in diameter and the juice well is a whopping 6mm deep. I can fit a good amount of juice in there without causing a ton of spit back. The Druga has a parallel style, dual slot airflow, meaning the airflow sits directly in front of the coils. It leaves for a slightly tighter draw than a Kennedy style but I find this style to be superior to Kennedy. Without going into further detail, let's break it down a bit more closely.

The Deck

The deck is the highlight of this RDA,by far. While the whole design is pretty gorgeous, the deck is what's going to impress most folks. It's 20mm in size and has a 6mm deep juice well. I drip 10-15 drops of juice in there with no issue, even after completely soaking and painting my coils. I get get a good 10-15 huge draws off this before it starts to get dry. As a person who generally uses large coils, I was excited to get build on this deck. The thumb screws make fitting large, thick coils a breeze. The coils I put in this were a set of 3mm framed staples that I had made specifically for the Druga. I was able to fully remove the thumb screws, slip the legs down into the slots and rethread the screws back on. I use my thumbs to tighten the coils down to the point they would stay in place where I wanted them. Then I grabbed the screwdriver and finished it off. The thumb screws are really convenient when fitting new coils. The 24k finish has a matte look to it rather than the really shiny look I have seen on some other atomizers out there. With the coils at 5 wraps, the spacing between legs to fit into the posts was slightly off but I was able to work them into position no problem. The space between the deck and the wall of the cap is adequate enough for a 3mm build, anything bigger may pose shorting issues. What I really like about this deck, and the RDA is the parallel airflow slots. No more juice running out the airflow and on to my precious mod. That is the one major con to a Kennedy style. Sure, it's my fault, I drip too much but it still annoys me like crazy. Which leads me to the next part

The Airflow

Like I mentioned above, the airflow on the Druga RDA is a dual slot, fully adjustable setup. The slots sit directly parallel to the coils, providing a fantastic flow of vapor from the coil to your lungs. To adjust the Airflow, simply grasp the top of the cap and turn. The rotation is very smooth and easy to do. The slots themselves are 12mmx2mm, which from inspection covered basically all the length of the coil inside the deck. I have already said this to a few people and I stand by it. This RDA really dials in the perfect amount of airflow. I swore by another RDA previous to the Druga, I haven't touched that other once since. I run it wide open and it feels slightly restricted but it's just perfect. Other than that there isn't a whole lot more to say about the airflow other than it's perfect.

Final Conclusion

So by now, you have a good idea of what the Druga is all about, it's easily the best RDA I have used to date. My range on RDAs may not be as big as some, I obviously have not tried them all but of the ones I own and have tried, this takes the cake. The performance is fantastic, as I expected, airflow is amazing and the vapor production is huge. So, I guess you're probably wondering if there are any cons to the Druga? Well, yes, there is one minor con. I have adjusted to it and I am fine with its single flaw. The ULTEM low profile drip tip is very low profile and with large builds, the cap gets really hot and more than one time I went to take a draw and burnt my lips on the cap. After a while, I didn't make this mistake again. From reading around on other website, forums and such, Augvape in general gets fairly rave reviews on all their products so I am not overly surprised at how great the Druga is.

Again, I want to thank Augvape for sending this RDA over, It has become my daily since I got it. I am really looking forward to seeing what the come out with next! Thanks everyone for stopping by and reading what I had to say about the Druga RDA. Until next time!
