So as we all know BionX is essentially dead at this point. I have a D-500 on my Bullitt, which died with a grinding sound. I called around various shops until I found one that had a spare D-500 in inventory. They shipped the motor and I installed it this weekend, but I'm afraid they didn't activate it, the assist buttons don't do anything, the neutral light blinks, and there is a red wrench on the display (I have the newer DC3/RC3 display/controller).
I know people have had success hacking the older motors/controllers using Tinycan/Crumb128 controllers, but has anyone figured out how the activation process even works? If BionX takes down their activation servers soon, a lot of dealers are going to end up with bricked wheels sitting in their inventory...
