Would 27.5 by 2.25 tires fit on my 2.4 wheels?

Hello,
I'm planning on commuting with my bike in the winter. But I know I will need studded tires to stay safe with the baby on board. I'm looking at these discounted studded tires from MEC. The deal looks good, but I'm concerned about fitting them. Currently, I have 2.4 tires. Will these 2.25 tires fit? If they do, would I feel any noticeable difference from the size difference?
