I currently have an X-Treme Rubicon Electric Mountain Bicycle (500W 48V) that I bought a few years ago. It has five levels of assist when I pedal or I can just use the lever. Top speed without pedaling is around 23 MPH. The furthest I've traveled on a single charge has been 23 miles. And that was with me peddling and being conservative with the assist. I was probably just a few miles away from running out of power. I'd like to be able to travel at least 40-45 miles. I see many bikes advertise mileage like that or better. Mine was listed as Up To 70 Miles Range Using Low PAS & Flat Terrain While Pedal Assisting. There is no way that would happen.
With that said, I'm looking for a mountain bike that will provide me with speeds in the mid-20s and a range of at least 40 miles. Price wise I'd like to be in the $1500 range. Any suggestions?
Thanks!
