Really considering an e-bike to replace my car for an 18 mile commute.

So I’m really considering an e-bike for my work commute. It’s a tad over 18 miles and I have a bike path that runs about 95% of the way. Ebikes are legal to use on the path. Is this a reasonable ride? I live in Florida so I would expect rain regularly but the idea is very appealing if the bike can hold up to the stress and maintenance isn’t absurd.
