With some of the recent events in the world I decided to finally make an escape to British soaps. I've been a fan of British dramas for a few years but never really got into the soaps, they always felt really imposing but I've since spent the past few days watching the recent months of EastEnders and I'm hooked.
Outside of some of the Australian soaps I occasionally saw in the background growing up (I'm in Australia so Neighbours was always there in some form!) and those my grandparents watched (Young the Restless, Bold and the Beautiful, etc) this is my first real experience with soaps. I've since gone back to 1985 and started some of the original episodes just got past baby Hassan's death.
The pub always looks so comfy. Cindy already makes me want to throw my TV out the window and I can't get over Freddie always looking like this D:
Also, it might just be because I'm used to more American shows, but I feel like growing up I've met someone like almost each of these characters at least once. That's...nice? I can relate in a way. Although these are more exaggerated versions of course.
