I was having some pretty intense pain and almost complete loss of hearing in the left ear for like the last week and finally ended up getting an appointment with the ENT yesterday. The diagnosed it as a fungal infection and used some little suction device to clean it out, which felt a million times better for a few hours. That was yesterday, and pretty much all day today The pain has been even worse for all of today and I think my hearing is even worst too. The doctor gave me The option of some steroid antifungal drops but I declined because the ear felt fine at the time, now I'm regretting that decision. He also told me he was going to prescribe an antibiotic, but from everything I've read it doesn't seem like antibiotics help fungal infections at all. Has anyone dealt with one of these before? I'm going to try and make another appointment, but in the meantime is there anything I can do to ease the pain and the feeling of fullness?
