It's been two weeks since we won our first Lombardi. It feels so fucking good saying that. Also, long read, its 5am and I am deep in thought about life, etc.
Reading over this sub-reddit alot of us have had horrible 2016's. Including myself and I am sure no one wants to read another sob story, so I will keep it short.
In 2016, I lost the girl I wanted to marry, my apartment (shitty roommate), my younger brother (special shoutout to the redditor on here who called us all family), my job and Barnaby's burnt down. So yea, it was shitty.
Anyway, week 1 my buddy and I were at the bar (and I was optimistic about this season, 9-7 Wildcard) there was this older fella who every game shouted "SuperBowl" after big plays. Every week, hed be at the same spot, same beer, same food, same people. Same chant and super friendly, he told my friend and I dont be surprised WHEN we win.
Like many of us, I used this season to escape reality on Sundays. A win meant a good week, a loss a shitty week (even the losses didnt lead to be bad weeks).
Fast forward to Super Bowl Sunday, I was in New Orleans with some friends and had a ball. We met people from Philly and partied on Bourbon Street (Btw saints fans are super chill) at one point we had 20 some people in our group all rocking eagles gear just living the dream. The flight back the next morning had so much energy. The whole week was still magic. Champions, were Champions.
Sorry for the long read and for anyone else going through issues like everyone else on this thread has helped me, I am here for you too. Before the bandwagoners hit us over thd offseason, I just wanted to say to my brothers and sisters, I love you all. And to all the doubters, FUCK EM.
Tl;dr- Were a fucking family, were champions and fuck Dallas.
