Tl;dr- if I cancel all my unbidded or no offer listings to get organized and ensure I know where all my cards are, then relist when I am certain the card is accounted for, will I be penalized? Also, I just got the eBay store account for marketing purposes. If that makes any difference.
Hey all, I inherited probably half a million cards back in July, I must say, it was incredibly overwhelming. I spent about 3 months cherry picking these boxes and have finally got to the point where I am seeing some income. I started throwing up some cheaper cards to boost my feedback. However, I had my nephew over (8 months) and I moved everything that was organized (chaotically) but it had all my listed cards together and I accidentally mixed them.
I’ve already had 100 sales since I started and I’ve spent most, if not all, my free time just searching for 3-10$ cards. I’m at the point where i can’t keep up and am offering more expensive cards and refunds for customers because I was originally getting everything out same or next day and now I am going up to 3 just searching. It’s causing me a lot of stress and ruining the chaotic organizing I already had. I still have 100% and 47 positive reviews which I’m grateful my customers have been accommodating. I’ve cancelled 3 sales I just couldn’t find, I’ve refunded or partial refunded many orders I was able to send another card in in place of the lost one. I just don’t know how the algorithm will effect me and I know it’s unsustainable. Which would suck because I’m actually making a good amount from doing this.
I recently watched a ton of YouTube vids on large volume sellers and know organization is key. I have my boxes now for each sport, each having two slots for listing and listed. Binder for high value cards, and boxes for my different graded cards. The problem is I keep getting orders that take up so much time to find I haven’t been able to organize. I am taking 17 credits and I have a property management business so I really need to spend a full day doing this, and then maintain it.
I was considering setting time away and cancelling all listings that have no watchers or bids until the item is accounted for. Some probably did get lost and won’t be reposted. Once I have everything organized, I plan to go through and confirm inventory, but also relist all the cards I found. I’d also be able to list a lot of the cards I have wanted to get more feedback before listing.
