Did I just ruin this E46 I got
Post Body

I know I’m a freaking moron for this it was a mistake and I was being rushed.. either way no excuses..

I picked up this manual e46 that had been taken care of very well. It has been years since I drove stick. I test drove, it, drove great. But obviously my shifts were fine.

thing is while I was familiarizing myself before I hit the freeway. I was being rushed and I made the poor decion of shit going. Considering I’ve had 3 e46’s I figured no problem.

Long story short I’m not as dialed in as I once was and I money shifted from 4 to 3 as that shifter was pretty loose

The circumstances mentally for me were not ideal as I was distracted and have been working all day to help my mom secure a wagon for her. She was ready to go and I should have gave myself more time but This was last stop So mental fatigue, and she was nagging me to go home. All night so I was trying to get home. I should have done this the next day after rest

I believe my panic had me riding the clutch as well especially going from auto right to manual… I know I’m an idiot it has been years since I drove stick. When I got home the car basically would not shift into any gear while turned on, only off. In neutral it will want to roll forward.

I’m positive the clutch is fried my question is my engine or tranny or both destroyed? Hear ticking . Please let me know if I ruined the car. I’m so upset with myself I’ve been up all night researching these sympotms . Realizing I could have blown my engine is very much a tough pill to swallow…

Anyway thanks for the input everyone…
