New here. Starting to seek help

Hi everyone, I'm 24 and have been 'sad' since I was 12 or 13. That is half my life spent like this, it's all I know.
I was unaware there were so many people who felt the same way, but I have read stories of people who have made themselves better and I want that. I can see my mental state getting worse and worse, feeling like an alien.
I think I will book an appointment to see a doctor for antidepressants as therapy for such engrained thinking won't be enough.
