Adults who got tested: How?
Post Body

How did you manage to get a diagnosis? Is there a way insurance would cover it, or did you have to pay out of pocket? Seems like it would be really expensive

Comments

Insurance almost guaranteed will not cover diagnostic testing.

It never hurts to ask but I would not count on it. I'd call your insurance company and ask them directly what the deal is, you may be able to get reduced rates by getting a referral from your doctor or someone else but, again, I wouldn't count on it.

It's probably going to be expensive, I've seen anywhere from $500 to $1,000 out of pocket.

The trick is going to be finding someone that does actually do that evaluation. Dyscalculia is fairly new in terms of a diagnosable situation so a lot of practitioners aren't quite there in terms of having the tools to test for it.
