Apparently most people with dysautonomia feel better on birth control but I feel worse
Post Body

Something in hormonal BC, even progestin-only methods makes me flare. Whenever I try using any kind of HBC I have temperature, heart rhythm (tachycardia, worsened pre existing arrhythmia) and blood pressure regulation issues, fainting, tinnitus, sweating, involuntary muscle movements (like twitching and sometimes jerking). I also get blurred vision only on my right eye and skin reactions like hives and rashes. After quitting it, it takes a few days to weeks to feel better again, it depends on how many pills I took. They already tried putting me on the patch which they claimed to have ā€œless impact on the liverā€ and then maybe it wouldnā€™t affect me so much but I had the same reaction. Anyone ever been through this? Obviously doctors donā€™t believe me, say ā€œthereā€™s no correlationā€, ā€œnothing like this was ever described in medical literatureā€ etc. Ended up getting a copper IUD which is my only option besides condoms and Iā€™m happy with the contraception but not satisfied with my periods and PMS.
