Dysautonomia in pregnancy
Post Body

Hi all, weird situation that none of my docs seem to be helping with. I've had Dysautonomia pretty much my entire life due to hEDS. I'm also 38 weeks pregnant. Last week I started having symptoms again after going the entire pregnancy without any dysautonomic symptoms at all. I keep having both wet and dry fainting spells, tachycardia, etc. despite fluid intake and salt intake. BP floating around 125/85, and tachy anywhere from 105-143.

I will also mention this is my second baby, and last time I didn't get symptoms either. This baby is already 2lbs bigger than my last one, though. My OB keeps pushing for the ER, which I went Saturday but of course we all know they don't do much for it besides fluids and labs that show nothing.

I'm trying to make it 8 more days until my scheduled c-section, but am curious to know if what I'm experiencing is normal. No doctors in my area, including my Neuro, are familiar enough with Dysautonomia to say one thing or another (I know, I live in rural VA where it's not diagnosed or seen often). My OB won't even see me until Thursday, either. The nurse line is pushing for me to go to the ER. My primary says to refer to my OB, same with the ER, so I'm really at a loss.

I feel like he's laying on something he's not supposed to, like a major blood vessel (ie vena cava) but no one is listening to me. I'm also smaller, I'm 4' 10" and he's estimated to be close to 8.5lbs already, so I am having trouble maintaining already.

Any advice? Anecdotes? Etc? They won't move my c-section date up unless I'm dying, already asked...
