So I saw the movie on YouTube and here’s what I thought about it. I know that all the film buffs and the majority of non-fans will deride this movie as garbage so I won’t be talking about that so much.

First what I didn’t like. Not surprisingly the biggest flaw of this film is the story telling and pacing. It’s like Koei can’t do a nice fleshed out plot to save their lives 😂. Just when I was getting into the YT Rebellion part with the magic and the fighting and what-not bam next thing. Right as I’m all intrigued with Dong Zhuo being a jerkass and abusing his power bam! Next plot line. This is really the biggest problem of the film.

What I thought was great was the costumes. They’re mostly DW 7 and 8 inspired imo. I’m not a fan of the character designs in the recent games but they looked pretty good in live action form. Cao Cao was rocking some cool armor, as was Liu Bei. Guan Yu was wearing his typical outfit and even Yuan Shao looked badass. The fight scenes were awesome very nice special effects it really looked like I was watching a cutscene in the game. All in all I felt like I was watching Kung Fu Hustle and that’s a movie that I love.

On the abysmally small chance this gets a sequel I hope they focus on one event and then really develop the plot around that.
