Heyo been playing total was 3k a bit lately. got thinking how future empires games could take some inspiration. What if anything do you guys think would be good for empires.
Actions- not a TW thing but I really think they should bring back being able to do more than one thing per turn. In total war you can do diplomacy, a few battles, domestic policies and building all in one turn. In 5 empires you could also implement up to 5 or so policies depending on your rank
Map- I would love to see the map divided into commandery type areas rather than provinces (or whatever they got going on rn) not quite counties like TW but I think commanderies would be cool since it would allow for more factions more management If they bring back the prefect mechanic. I wouldn't even mind slightly shorter battles so as to not drag out the campaign too much.
Diplomacy - Several things but yeah I know its probably too complex to implement everything but like the way vassals work, how you declare war/peace, trading resources, and such would be cool to see in an empires
Ranks- for the most part in 9 I don't think your rank as a ruler really means anything. Definitely feel this needs a rework and the way TW does it is a pretty nice take on it gaining points to spend on armies and stuff as you rank up from noble all the way to emperor. Ranks within kingdoms could also use some work but idk how.
Building- If they are ditching the open world (which unfortunately I suspect) then building stuff like in total war and 8xl in our kingdoms would be cool.
Anything else you guys think could really work
