We get a lot of messages from users complaining that they are getting annoying comments or PMs from spambots, straight men's accounts, and M/F couples. Sadly there's absolutely nothing we can do about the private messages you receive, but we have heard you all loud and clear you have interest in a more private space that does not have these unwanted accounts lurking over it.

We made /r/DykesGonePrivate in response to these requests. Please note that this is not a safe space or a risk-free space. On the internet, you can never be truly sure who someone really is. However, we can promise that each and every single person in DGP was personally vetted by a moderator to check that their profile was consistent with them being a queer woman or a member of the wlw community. Anyone who is obviously male or a straight couple will not be admitted.

A lot of M/F couples and men who browse here are not even aware that the posters here would prefer only female attention. They are just browsing GW subreddits randomly when they come across us. Making a private subreddit ensures that anyone who comments on your posts is not commenting by accident

Ideally, your profile should be more than 3 months old and have a posting history which makes it obvious you are not a man or a straight couple trying to catfish. If your account looks super sketchy, modmail DGP to verify. Make a sign with your username and the date, crumple the sign, and uncrumple it. Take photos of yourself with your sign, and make sure that your body is visible enough we won't suspect you're trying to play a clever trick. Be patient if we take a while to confirm your verification, as we are a small mod team.
