What parkour/combat mechanics do you want to see added/kept from DL1/removed entirely in DL2?

So the gameplay we’ve seen so far showed us a fair amount of what’s possible like horizontal wall running, swinging from ropes/cables, what looks like manual blocking and activation of weapon effects, among other additions. Are there any mechanics from DL1 you’d like to see removed at all or kept as they were, and what would you like to see added?

My personal list would be:

  • if a rope is attached to a single point, allowing us to change direction/swing it in any direction and launch off of it accordingly rather than in just one predefined direction.

  • dual wielding. This was seen in promo material for DL1 but ultimately didn’t pan out, it’d be great to see this make a comeback and allow combos of one handed weapons and even a firearm if they are going to make an appearance in the game.

  • amping up the gore. In DL1 we could take chunks out of enemies, dismember limbs and heads, break bones, and cut in enemies in half. I really hope none of it is toned down at all and if anything amp it up more. If we slice the abdomen then maybe have some guts spill out or bulge through the cut, allow a slicing motion that goes upwards to split enemies from the groin up.

  • actual stealth mechanics. The stealth in DL1 is pretty barebones when it allows stealth to happen, it’d be awesome to see at the very least sensory cones/areas of detection on the minimap if accessing human enemy territory if one wanted to try a stealthy approach.

  • an under sweep leg move that topples enemies over or puts them off balance, could be useful if you want an enemy to go down but using the reversal (grappling an enemy while they attack and throwing them to the side) could put them somewhere you don’t want.
