Dying light the following glitches whenever someone joins

Hey so I’ve been trying to play the following and it’s not the first time it’s happened but someone joins/invades my lobby or attempts to and the game automatically loads me into the slums (alone) and it makes me start the story mode all over again and can’t return to the countryside by any chance does anyone know a fix to this?
