Using were-beasts to cure disease.
Post Body

Distuth Umbrahearts the Demon of Poisons was a giant beakless duck which had a nasty habit of emitting flesh-rotting, blood swelling fumes. I didn't want to endanger my useful dwarves, so I sent a squad of trainees into the caverns to take it out.

Miraculously, they defeated it without any casualties, but then the syndrome started to take effect. After making sure it wouldn't transfer to dwarves who tried to carry the infected, I brought them up to my hospital for treatment. But they've been stuck there for 6 months now. Their medical history is one giant text-wall of doctors excising the rotted tissue, but I've seen no progress whatsoever. On the plus side, my surgeons are now all legendary 5.

During this time, two of my dwarves happened to become were-chameleons.

So here's my crazy plan: I'm going to release the were-chameleons into the hospital, so they they can transfer they lycantropy to the rotten dwarves. Then when the sick transform, they'll be healed.

And here's where I need your help: How do I make this not fail catastrophically? I can hope that the were-chameleons will calmly bite each sick dwarf on the hand and then politely turn back, but realistically all I can see is gory a sacrifice to Armok. Has anybody here had experience with something like this?

Edit: If this should be asked in the weekly questions thread, I'll be happy to re-post it there. I originally planned to include the full story on Distuth Umbrahearts and the Werechameleon Wax Makers but I figured I'd try and make a happy ending first.
