Help convincing my DH that DVC is a valid investment even if we didn't use it (I want to)
Post Body

We go to wdw just about every year and are considering the leap to dvc membership. Looking to purchase a AKL resale as this is one of our favorite resorts. Hoping someone can help with some finance math to help convincing.

Looks like we can purchase 75 points for ~$11400 with a remainder of 36 years on the contract. Current dues are $8.07. To me this seems like an absolute value. Even if never used it, we could resell the points to one of those sites for $15.50/pt. 15.50-8.07=7.43/pt/year or 7.43 * 75 * 36=$20060.

Does that seem accurate or is there something else I am not considering? Feeling like the only argument would be opportunity cost, but I feel like that would be offset by the gains from actually using the points.
