Just bough a 2 quart cast iron. General advice and recipes please
Post Body

Excited to buy a 2 quart cast iron to cook in for camping trips!

A couple of questions:

Are gloves a necessity to get the cast iron out of the coals or can I use the lid lifter?

How should I season it before use?

I am looking for some general recipes. I love roasted garlic and also I love roast jalepanos and peppers, but I'm happy with basic recipes like potatoes and cream of mushroom and such!

Excited to get started!
