"Always wear a helmet"

I get a bit tired of seeing "Always wear a helmet" posts in /r/bicycling and /r/cycling. Sure, if you're on a club ride on your road bike, racing, or going off road on an MTB, I get it, there's more risk involved. Seems bizarre to me to imply that a five minute ride to the shops is of equal risk however. What do you make of these posts on reddit and elsewhere when you come across them?
