So I'm on a few different language learning apps and groups. One of them will post memes about Spanish words across different countries and that has made me wonder..
I know duolingo focuses more on the Spanish spoken in Central and South America versus Spain for their lessons but which country in the Americas are they primarily focusing on? There are some differences in everyday words, apparently, but duolingo doesn't seem to teach those differences, so what country are they picking these words from?
Do they just pick the word that has the highest frequency or is there a specific country that they're using? Does anyone know?
