Are Frank Herbert's worlds connected?

Post Body

I've read through Dune 1-6 three different times and finally decided to read Brian's 7 & 8. After reading most of book 8, I decided to start reading Frank's other series.

I'm wondering if any of you know if the world's connect at all?

I just started Whipping Star and there are chairdogs, and they speak a form of galach. Maybe he just decided to use the same terms, but perhaps the scattering after the god emperor's death created so many civilizations in so many other star systems that some of his other books (like whipping star, etc) could have developed from it.

No idea, just a conspiracy, but I'd love your input!
