Honestly if you're cutting it down to movie length, you'll just be getting the key plot bits, and not a great deal of the "philosophising" etc

The philosophising honestly isn't very good though, but movies really aren't long anyway so you don't need that many scenes - Dune was cut into two parts and still had to remove like 70% of what was going on in the second half. If it's a 2 hour movie, then just spending 6-12 minutes on the opening scene of Siona & co raiding that place means you're already 5-10% through it. Like, you can have some of the philosophising in there, but if it takes a total of 20 minutes rather than over half the movie, there would probably be plenty to fill the rest of it
