The bene Tleilaxu always struck me as a very xenophobic isolationist faction who would rather do their own thing discreetly than make alliances. They are also intensely patriarchal in how they treat the women of their society (with the axolotl tanks etc).
During Leto ll rule, the bene Tleilaxu try to join with the bene gesserit to create a society without the need for men.
This seems completely out of character for the bene Tleilaxu. They have built their society off of patriarchy which is reinforced by their religious dogma. Also it seems like they are narratively meant to be a gender-flipped version of the bene gesserit.
Perhaps I am overthinking this. What are your thoughts?
