Why didn't Baron Harkonnen think that snitching on the Emperor would hurt him too?

Post Body
In the movie, the Baron tells Feyd that once the word got out that the Emperor Lent the Harkonnens support for destroying the Atreides, the Great Houses would overthrow him and somehow Feyd would end up Emperor. But wouldn't this news be just as damaging to the reputation of the Harkonnens? If the Emperor choosing sides is illegal, then wouldn't the Harkonnens accepting that help be illegal too? No way the Great Houses would be OK with that and just let Feyd be Emperor.

That's my take. They state the same rhetorical question, with the baron implying that the answer is "nowhere" and Fenring implying the answer is "anywhere"
