MP3 player with playlists?

I’m looking for an MP3 player and was about to go for the iPod classic (5). However, when I looked at the photos of the interface there was no option of playlists. And then when I looked up how to make playlists on the iPod classic I couldn’t find anything within recent years so I’m not sure what that looks like.

I honestly can’t remember if I used playlists growing up? It had to have just been albums or manually selecting songs. But now I can’t imagine living without my playlists. Any advice?
