before I get into it, here's how I ended up on this subreddit. I was arrested for misdemeanor OUI in Anchorage Alaska last year and was convicted in January of this year. Now for the issue at hand. Due to the OUI, I am potentially getting separated from the military within the next few months and I am trying to plan my move out of Alaska. The issue I'm running into right now is getting my vehicle out of here. I was originally planning on driving but obviously, I can't drive through Canada anymore, and the ferry is looking less and less of an option with how few lines are running. I am thinking of shipping it but I don't know how that would work with the DMV, Would I be able to temporarily remove my IID for the move so long as someone drives it? Would removing it reset my timeline for my IID or add more time to my sentence? My other thought was to potentially sell my vehicle but that still brings me back to the temporary removal of my IID. I only have 6 months but my time in Alaska may be much shorter than that if the military does decide to push me out. Help!!!!
