So I've been playing for a couple of weeks now and have had 2 games end in draws. It seems much more likely in this than in other games since counter attacks happen even on killing blows. I'm not entirely opposed to the fact that the game has draws, but I can see some potential problems, especially with tournaments. How will draws be handled in tournaments? Does the game just get played again? I'm not sure how other games handle it, but it seems like it could be a real issue.
Of course, figuring out an alternative to draws is non-trivial, but there are options. First, health could go negative for generals, and if both generals are killed then the one with lower health loses. I had a game yesterday where I was brought to 0 health by a general who would have been brought to -1 health if the game had negative health, and I think a win would have been more appropriate there. If both generals still end with the same health the game could go to sudden death; both generals get reset to 1 health and play continues until one general is killed.
Have there been any draws in the tournaments played to date? If so, how were they handled?
