Took this a few years ago when we had roughly 4 to 5 dozen year round Mallards on our brackish water lake (old sand pit). Could always rely on a handful of clutches every season. Then the black-bellied whistlers showed up. Aggressive mfers. Now we may have a half dozen Mallards or so. I have many found memories when this was their domain. Even had a beautiful cock rooster that was always in the mix, as their protector. I have a picture of him wading with the ducks. Heโs hard to pick out in the picture but heโs there.
