Hey everyone. I was born and raised in Dubuque but haven't lived there in over 14 years. I was considering moving back with my partner to open a business. I had been talking to some investors (3 different families) but when I had mentioned my boyfriend, one of the families was uncomfortable with it and decided they were no longer interested. It kind of hurt knowing some people still have that mentality. While it doesn't bother me and I take on more of the attitude of "your loss, I'm actually a really nice guy," I just wanted to get maybe a few of your prospectives on the whole issue. I know there's been a gay bar here and there in Dubuque but as of now, don't think there it (and no I'm not coming back to open a gay bar lol).
So what is your opinion/thoughts on the whole gay culture and acceptance in Dubuque? Has it gotten any better since 15 years ago?
