Post Body

For context, these are responses to a post about overdoses that took place at Summoning of the Eclipse last year. Let me start off by saying I love SD and I'm a huge fan of a lot of the artists that played and this post is not about him or that scenario in particular.

These were two serious overdoses that completed warranted a conversation about updates. To make jokes about it is really messed up and weird. The amount of upvotes for the people making jokes and downvotes for the people genuinely concerned about the lives of these people is so wrong. This looks horrible for us and encourages a toxic and unsustainable music culture.

I understand overdoses happen often, but that's not a reason to normalize them and make it seem like it's just "a part of rave culture." There are always ways to improve how festivals and attendees should respond to these situations and prevent them from happening again. We should only be working towards healthier patterns and overdose prevention. This is not the kind of thing anyone should just be brushing off.
