Hi r/Dubai! My little brother is writing a paper on differences in social media usage globally and I told him that it might be smart to use Reddit as a first person research source, if only to help guide more thinking. Posting this on his behalf for the karma, both on reddit and irl :)
What social channels are the most popular with teens and young adults in Dubai and surrounding Middle Eastern countries?
To what extent do people use them differently, are there apps more for connecting and others more for showing off (a fun life, material goods, etc).
Do you guys see as many ads as we do or are there more protections/restrictions especially for minors? And whatโs the general consensus on ads?
Are there any social channels that are really popular in your country but have yet to get the recognition globally?
Ty in advance for the help!! Hoping this sub can help guide him in a better direction
