TW: Today me and my family went to a beach near Al majaz, Sharjah. At the beach there weren’t that many people, around 20 people. We found a spot a little further away from the people and were mind our business. Everything was going all right, then 30 minutes later came a white lady, mid 30s I would say.

She took a spot 2 minutes walk away from us and went straight into the water. Me and my brother were in the water, and there were 3 more men in there. They were all south Asian(not gonna name the specific for obvious reasons). Everything was fine and everyone were minding their business.

The lady came into the water and was swimming normally. The other guys noticed her too. So heard them speaking to each other and laughing profusely. It felt like they were daring the guy while pushing him towards the direction of the lady. Mind u that the lady was like a 5 min swim from where were. So me and my brother were waiting to see what was gonna happen.

They orchestrated a plan. One of the guy swam to the outer part of the shoreline to flank her and one stepped out of the water and sat on the sand facing directly towards her and the other didn’t move from his spot. They tried to play it cool as if it was normal what they were doing.

10 minutes later they started to move and shrink the triangle form they were in. I thought it was odd so I looked at lifeguard, and he wasn’t even paying attention but rather on his phone. So now they got so close to her and were trying to talk to her. She was laughing in a uncomfortable way I assume and they probably got the hint and two of them left her.

Now there was only one man left with her and was trying to get close to her and she was backing away the whole time. I stepped out of the water and tried walking towards their side of the beach so my body could face them directly towards them. As I was walking saw the guy trying his hardest to put his arms around her neck. She was gesturing an “X” sign with her arms. Saw it and told the guy to leave her alone. He came out the water and said “how you doing sadiq?” Like he didn’t just try to grope the lady. Told him to what were you doing? He responded with “she is Russian, it’s okay” that got my blood boiling. He spoke like she was less than a human. He saw that I got angry and didn’t waste no time and left the beach. The other two in the water went to the other side of the beach where there were other Russians females but they had partners with them so wasn’t worried.

There should seriously be a police at every beach. Otherwise these type of situations could tarnish our reputation of being a safe country.
