I'm African-American.
I'm a Vet.
I'm middle age.
I'm a father.
And...I'm angry.
Very angry.
At the GOP...the DNC...those who don't know what it is like to work paycheck to paycheck, who barely keep a roof over our/their heads, who struggle to have any semblance of life. I'm angry that we're told by one party "let's give your money to the rich and then you'll see your money come back and work for you."
It didn't.
The other party says "we'll give you what you want, but we'll have to give it to you piece by piece...not all at once, because we don't think you can handle all the 'free'stuff."
And this approach didn't work for us either.
Look, I've seen what a nation with a socialist democratic background of government does a better job at helping the working class, making sure all its citizens have health coverage, good environment, good education, etc. I saw Germany up close because I was stationed there and I lived in the German society. I like the way they do things.
I also like what the Dutch do too.
And France.
England.
Italy.
And the rest of the nations who follow suit.
I love America. I love being an American. But I hate our pride to not try and adopt policy that could work for everyone and benefit our nation simply because we don't want to give up on capitalism and or change the way we operate government.
Maybe I'm one of many who have looked into DSA as a viable option to support as a party, but right now both parties have failed me. I'm wanting a party who will look out for people like me and can bring a new voice and a fresh governance than what we have right now.
Is there room for someone like me?
