Tips/tricks to manipulate sound of the kit for different styles of music?

Post Body

I’d love to hear how fellow drummit users manipulate the sound of their drums and cymbals based on the style of music you’re playing / recording.

For example, I’ve seen some people use stretched fabric on top of the drumhead, but under the counter hoop, in order to achieve a more muffled and vintage sound/feel.

Additionally, people stack cymbals, use tambourines on the hihat, use cymbal rattlers, etc.

Would love to hear other creative ways to adjust and manipulate the sounds of the kit!
