Hey drummit,
I have recently been using Aerodrums as my "fix" for playing the kit. It is definitely fun, but playing for hours at a time hurts my joints. I have a nice 4 piece acoustic kit that I would like to convert to an electronic or midi-based kit (depending on cost/function).
I want to be able to play the kit and hear it back through headphones with minimal lag. Ideally, I'd also like to route it into Logic or Ableton to record myself playing if I really wanted to. I wouldn't mind a setup that requires a DAW to function (MIDI Based) but I imagine that there will be lag associated with it.
I figure the easiest way to convert it would be by purchasing mesh heads and drum triggers, but I've also seen systems like the Pearl Tru Trac Electronic Head Pack.
So, what do you guys suggest?
edit: I also have access to some Roland V-Cymbals (from the V-Drum line)
