To help with ongoing insomnia, I had been using a gummy product, Space Gods, that contains hemp derived CBD and <0.3% delta 9 THC. This is legal in the state I live in, Texas. The product says each gummy contains 15 mg of THC and 15 mg of CBD. I'd been using the product for about 7 days but it didn't seem to help so I went to my doctor. He prescribed a sleeping aid which is a controlled substance but also ordered a urine-based drug monitoring test, I did not know he'd ordered the drug monitoring and had not mentioned the gummies because I didn't think it was significant. It turns out my results came back positive for marijuana metabolite at 238 ng/mL with no differentiation between hemp or cannabis-derived THC. Now, the doctor is saying he is not allowed to prescribe controlled substances to a patient with a positive test result <5 ng/mL. Now, I feel a criminal even though I've done nothing illegal. I probably should have mentioned the gummies but that water under the bridge. The doctor wants me to come in a do another urine test to and says it has to come back "clean" before he can continue with the sleeping aid refills which actually are helping. He also prescribes testosterone, which is also a controlled substance. Now, I don't know what to do? I took a product that is completely legal in this state!
