1st week FB went great, 2nd week struggles...
Post Body

I restarted my store recently and here's what happened. I didn't know that Facebook changed the pixel setting so that you have to select which events individually to track. So for my first product, I ran a conversion campaign to get landing views instead of purchases. This got heaps of clicks and to this point, I'd thought that Facebook removed optimizing for ATC, IC, PUR etc. (I haven't dropshipped since early 2019).

Those first two testing ad sets I have 2 audiences and over the two days the CTR was really high and I got a lot of website visits but no views. Then I set up the conversions properly and on the 3rd day I duplicated the ad set that was doing better and narrowed it down by the 2 best-performing countries & 1-day click attribution and I started getting consistent 1-3 sales a day for about 5 days. Then I realized that my product could get a lot of complaints due to many reasons revolving around the use of the product so I looked into moving onto my 2nd testing product. Then the CTR's and ROAS dropped after 3 days because none of the breakdowns were performing well on their own so I couldn't split test it more and I decided to kill the product and move on because this time around I wasn't going to lose money being married to my products.

I created my second video ad for a product and this one is heaps better than the first video I had for the first product. And I launched the new product's cold campaign one night ago. I have targeted 2 audiences between 2 ad sets like I did with my first campaign but instead, they're both set up for purchases. I have been confused lately though because things are going different than how last week went. Here are the results 36 hours in the 2 $10AUD/day ad sets:

Both ad sets: average 1.3% link CTR, $1.24 average link CPC, average $17.50 CPM,

Individual 1st ad set: average 2.8% overall CTR and $0.60 overall CPC,

Individual 2nd ad set: average 1.9% overall CTR and $0.81 overall CPC.

Obviously, the first ad set is performing better and both ad sets have certain breakdowns getting results like 2.2-2.6% link CTR, so should I:

  • Wait until the end of the first 48 hours and make narrowed duplicates as I did with the 1st product?
  • Give both ad sets 24 more hours because so I can collect more data because the first time around I had more data collected from all the link clicks due to my landing page optimization mistake?
  • Stop the ad sets after they've spent more than my BEP and try new audiences if I believe in the product and the ad, which I do.
  • Create a 3rd ad set that is optimized for landing page views to get more audience data?
