Looking for reassurance that I’m doing the right thing. I ended up with a wheelchair adapted Peugeot van through inheritance, which is a 2010 model and has only 26,000 miles on the clock. It’s in great condition owing to some re spray work done following vandalism earlier this year.
It’s been up for sale since summer and had little interest in it, I know I priced it top end and in that time the ULEZ scrappage scheme has increased what it offers to scrap noncompliant vehicles to the point I’m in the position where I have this great vehicle that is adapted with motorised hoist, ramp and passenger chair, etc, that would really help someone with mobility issues but the scrappage scheme value means it’s worth more than double what it would sell for.
I know that means I benefit but am I doing the right thing because it feels wrong to scrap a perfectly good vehicle for disabled person. I’m really anxious about it so looking for some sense and reassurance before it’s gone.. thanks!
