I'm about halfway through Peace Talks and I'm so tired/frustrated with the lazy writing re: plot development tools. This is the umpteenth book in the series where Harry/others cause more drama than needed because they don't just fucking talk to one another.
I'd be less pissed about this if Harry hadn't had revelations & character growth about how keeping secrets from your close allies makes everything worse books and books ago! I keep waiting for some sort of in-universe explanation for why everyone is extra paranoid & untrusting right now. Even if the presence of the Outsiders explains it, the use of this trope --AGAIN-- is just played out for me.
Butcher, buddy, I expected better from you!
/rant over. Probably won't check back until I'm done with the book.
