Don’t get me wrong, there’s plenty of videos on DS about language learning.
I’d be particularly interested in hearing the personal side of learning via input. Pablo does touch upon this. But unless anyone can direct me to a specific video, the most I’ve seen of him talking about his Japanese journey was basically studying all day for the six months before he travelled out to do his masters.
Maybe it’s just me, but I’d love some of the specifics on how Pablo, for example, got to the point that he could read extensively in Japanese. How he split up a 12-16 hour day. What he read etc.
I’d also love to know more on what Pablo’s doing in his head when he’s getting input to learn a language. I know he’s put a lot out there on the how of the method, just follow the story and remain interested etc. But whether there’s any more insight he could share around this.
Aside from Pablo, a lot of the guides seem to have a few languages under their belt. Alma has a few videos talking about learning English. Again I have not have got to them yet, but Sandra in particular seems to have German, Mandarin and possibly Turkish, English, Euskara. I’d love to know more detail on the process she uses for picking up languages.
There’s a lot of great videos already on how to adopt the method, but there’s just something about hearing about how someone has done it successfully themselves. Similar to the logs here for people at level 6/7.
