Client Calls Using an Interpreter
Post Body

So, Iā€™m a telephonic nurse calling Medicaid clients all day. About once a week or more, I have to enroll or follow up with Spanish speaking patient. Iā€™m wondering should I start counting this as comprehensible input. I never even thought about it. But I just got off a call that was an hour and 15 minutes. The entire calls are comprehensible because the interpreter is repeating what I say in Spanish. And then I hear the patient respond, and it is translated for me. I must listen and stay engaged. After many years of doing this I often know what the interpreter and patient are saying. But each interpreter translates things in a different way.

At least, maybe I could consider this crosstalk?

Going forward, should I add my client calls to my Dreaming Spanish hours?

I would love to hear your thoughts!
