Questions about saves on VMUs with GDEmu

Hi all

Currently have memory cards and vmus loaded with save files and I have a few questions relating to this

I would like to either transfer my saves to an SD card or buy the 4x memory cards so I don't have to delete save files but I'm not sure which route to take

Firstly, I was thinking of doing the dreamshell/SD card serial hub reader route, but as I don't have a disc drive (GDEmu) I would need a dreamshell cdi file and I'm not sure where to find one, which is currently stonewalling that route

My second option was to buy the 4x memory cards but I've read that some games are incompatible with it. Is this true? And if so, does anyone know which games? (Maybe I can just work around that?)

Can anyone lend any thoughts of wisdom on this topic? Thank you ahead of time
